Cubs Convention Tickets

I have found an individual selling Cubs Convention tickets, who is willing to sell up to 6 tickets for $125 a piece, with no shipping and handling, you just have to show up to the Hilton and pick them up. Here is the email he sent me...

Byron,

Here is what I could suggest. I have reserved two rooms at the Hilton in order to get the tickets. Only my wife and I attend, so this leaves me with 6 tickets to sell in addition to the 4 that I was lucky enough to get through the Cubs telephone sales. The 4 tickets from the Cubs are being mailed this week, and the tickets from the Hilton I will not get until Friday of the convention. In order to save shipping costs you could purchase one of the tickets I will pick up at the Hilton on that Friday. I have done this in past years and it works out well. You pay me for the ticket, I give you my home, work, and cell phone numbers and we meet at the hotel on Friday for me to give you your ticket.

I usually wait to post the hotel tickets until mid January (prices on e-bay go higher, and pick-up vs. last minute delivery is better) but I am willing to pre-sell at the $ 125.00 price if you or your inquirers are interested.

This is the email I sent him...

Hi, I run a cubs fan website and am interested in getting a pass to the convention. I also have had several people email me looking for passes. I was wondering if we could work out some kind of a package deal, and get the price down a few bucks each? My budget is $125 total for my ticket, including shipping and handling. If I give you the email addresses of those who have asked me about tickets, would you sell it to me for $125 total?

This individual has a very good track record on eBay, with a 99.3% positive feedback, and enough A++++++++'s to make me feel confident in the guy. Of course, I don't know him nor can I guarantee anything, but if you wish to buy tickets from him, please send me an email in the next few days, and I will pass along his email address, and ebay profile.

Cubs for Breakfast

Ok, just like the Cubs, we're finally getting a full head of steam. A new site popped up onto my radar today, its called Cubs For Breakfast and is written by John Marcus. Marcus lives across the pond, and so he gets a head start on us by a few hours each day, allowing him plenty of time to read the Chicago papers and post links to the interesting articles he finds.

I wrote him an email today asking if he minded me including him in his list, and he responded with a great characterization of what he's doing.

What I do most is simply collate the morning news headlines and most days don't offer any analysis - it says on the site that it's meant more to be a "meta site" or handy place to pick up the morning's headlines. A monkey could do that (and does in places like Yahoo news, etc.), but I do offer some filtering and formatting - also consistency and a clean page. I do foresee shifting more toward a conventional blog when the season starts, but I have to think about what my angle is going to be. I do not want to do the same thing that others do only not as well.

And so I sumbit for your consideration, Cubs For Breakfast.

Also, below in the textbox is the html for my latest update to the CBA. I have tried to reposition some blogs that have become more active, and some that have become less active. The code is there to do whatever you wish with it.

Hi fellow Cubs Fans,

I came across a new blog called: Cubs for Breakfast

Also, for you Goat Rider fans, after an interminably long downtime, Goat Riders is back up and open for business. I have seen that most of you have added it to your links, but this is a friendly reminder/encouragement if you have not. (http://www.goatriders.org)

I also posted today on CubsBlogArmy.com concerning Cubs for Breakfast, but I also included html for the complete CubsBlogArmy roll, so if you want to avoid the hassle of typing in 40 some-odd links, the hassle has already been done.

OK, thats about it, other than this: there are some of us Cubs fans who are still looking for tickets to the convention in January, if you have any extra, please let me know. I want one or two, and I have received a few emails from folks looking for them.

Dreams of a healthy Nomar,

Please Pardon Our Dust

Soldier, get your helmet on.

Welcome to The CubsBlogArmy.com. This site is dedicated to publicizing the blogs covering the Cubs, and to help those bloggers stay up to date. We are under construction, but are working hard to be ready soon.

A mission statement:

Because keeping track of the ever changing 'Cubs Blog Army' is nearly impossible, I have registered a domain: http://www.cubsblogarmy.com . My hope for this site is to eventually serve the rest of the Cubs Blog community by doing a few things:

1.) Maintaining a current list of Cubs Blogs

2.) Syndicate all of the blogs in the army, so we know who has updated recently

3.) provide that syndication to parties who want it

4.) provide html code of the list to help new bloggers quickly set-up links, and to allow us to update our lists easily, basically to standardize the CBA.

5.) Maintain an email list for the Cubs Blogging community to facilitate easy communication amongst us all.

If you have any other suggestions for the site, please let me know. Also, if you don't want to be in this email list, or included in the CBA, please reply and let me know.
