Agony and Ivy

Perhaps the best blog title yet:

Agony & Ivy - JCB, JMI, KJM.

"Agony & Ivy follows the narrative of Chicago Cubs baseball. While following every game, we take a bit more of a literary approach in engaging the season with our writing. It's as much about getting it right as it is about being right." - JCB

I'll begin with mentioning Agony & Ivy's layout because its very good. I really like how they have used the blue, white, green, and black and white photographs, its a very interesting design. Second, the posts are good and, I think, getting better. They are lengthy, so it can take a while to read, but I like it. Anyways, go check it out.

dr. strangecub

A witty name for a witty blog.

dr. strangecub - El Jefe.

"I wanted to have a page where I could vent my frustrations of being a cubs fan. Knowing that there are many people that also suffer from "Cubsitis" I knew people would be able to read my thoughts and on some level relate to them. I am also an aspiring writer in college and needed a place to practice my craft on a daily basis." - El Jefe

Dr. Strangecub the blog started last Friday and is going strong. The posts have covered your standard fare of Cubs news, ripping into LaTroy, praising Maddux and Lee, and throwing support behind Neifi! for the All-Star team. Here is your chance to share your Cubs loving with dr. strangecub!

Northside for Life

'Til death do us part has another meaning at this blog.

Northside for Life - Blue.

"Northside for Life contains the rantings and musings of yet another crazed Cubs fan who has never given up despite goats, Steve Bartman, and Kerry Wood's bum arm. Here I sit, waiting for the magical year when the Cubs take it all. In the meantime I'll write my impressions on the good, bad and ugly (bad and ugly being very prevalent with this team of late) aspects of Cubs baseball." - Blue

Northside for Life got started in April, but took a sabatical due to work, illness, and vacation. But, its proprietor is feeling better and has been updating regularly for the last week or so. "Blue" lives in the second city and has the opportunity to occasionally take in a game. His current post is a recap of last night's game which he attended. He has also posted about a few of the games he recently saw in Florida. Head on over and give it a good looking over.

Lingering Bursitis

So now we've resorted to naming blogs after pitching injuries?

Lingering Bursitis - Hypo, The Hawk, AdicaRoy, JT.

"Lingering Bursitis is devoted to that nagging feeling in our hearts, elbows and shoulders every time our Cubs take the field. From Aramis to Zambrano, LB is the home of upbeat, fan-crazed bias and angry rants about Jose Macias." - Lingering Bursitis

Lingering Bursitis started a few days after opening day. Its crew of four writers have been consistently chronicling the team over the course of this frustrating season. If there are genres to Cubs blogs, this one is mainly a fan reaction blog with some statistical analysis thrown in. Go ahead, check it out.

Fire Dusty Baker!

Common sentiment... but is it right?

Fire Dusty Baker! - Bad Kermit, Das Carl.

"Dusty Baker is wanted (out of Chicago) for acts of EXTREME stupidity. This man made you watch Lenny Harris wear tight pants. Get him out of town. NOW." - Bad Kermit & Das Carl

No need to really review this one, either you agree or you don't.

Cub-Colored Glasses

Do you think they're blue, red, grey, or white? Do they have pinstripes?

Cub-Colored Glasses - Bad Kermit.

"Seeing the world through Cub-colored glasses, one crushing disappointment at a time..." - Bad Kermit

Have you ever watched TV and thought something a little sarcastic? Well, this site seems to be chronicling those moments. With posts titled, "Chris Ber-man can you Shut the Hell Up," and "Hairston Joins Legions of Fans in Realizing Dusty an Idiot," Bad Kermit seems to be striking a nerve with your everyday-couch-potato-common-man like myself. Head on over and have a laugh.

CubLogger

Thats nifty, the last letter of Cub is the first letter of blog!

CubLogger - Smalbrecht.

"CubLogger is the BLOG of a lifetime CUBS fan: ie Masochist. These guys are my passion and I virtually live and die (too often its the latter) with every pitch. Most of all I wish they didn't make it so hard to love them, but I am forever cautiously optimistic that one year, they'll surprise all of us masochistic devotees and win the whole damn thing." - Smalbrecht

CubLogger launched nearly ten days ago and has had a good run so far. He has lambasted Dusty Baker, complained about Snow in April, and come up with a puzzling math equation:
Subtract 70 Homeruns and 160 RBI's (sosa and alou)
Subtract 15+ wins (clement)
Add- Jerry Hairston and Henry Blanco

Definitely worth a few visits. Check 'em out.

The Best Dan Cub Blog Period

Remembering Chip Caray and Fox Sports Net with,

The Best Dan Cub Blog Period - Dan the Fan.

"The internet's most accurate and up to date source for news and commentary on the Chicago Cubs. It's an irreverant take on this season from a Cub addict. Recent articles include "Nomar Has Been Shot" and "Ozzie [bleeping] Guillen provides Mad Libs for Rained out Cub Fans." - Dan the Fan

There is some good stuff here. This blog, as its title suggests, takes a humourous approach to things. In its second month of existence, this blog is definitely worth a peek.
