Cubs for Breakfast
Ok, just like the Cubs, we're finally getting a full head of steam. A new site popped up onto my radar today, its called Cubs For Breakfast and is written by John Marcus. Marcus lives across the pond, and so he gets a head start on us by a few hours each day, allowing him plenty of time to read the Chicago papers and post links to the interesting articles he finds.
I wrote him an email today asking if he minded me including him in his list, and he responded with a great characterization of what he's doing.
What I do most is simply collate the morning news headlines and most days don't offer any analysis - it says on the site that it's meant more to be a "meta site" or handy place to pick up the morning's headlines. A monkey could do that (and does in places like Yahoo news, etc.), but I do offer some filtering and formatting - also consistency and a clean page. I do foresee shifting more toward a conventional blog when the season starts, but I have to think about what my angle is going to be. I do not want to do the same thing that others do only not as well. |
And so I sumbit for your consideration, Cubs For Breakfast.
Also, below in the textbox is the html for my latest update to the CBA. I have tried to reposition some blogs that have become more active, and some that have become less active. The code is there to do whatever you wish with it.

Byron,
What should I, the humble Cubs blogger, do to make sure my blog posts get syndicated when this feature becomes available. Everything I've read about syndication confuses the high-holy heck out of me.
Thanks

Byron,
The most recent headlines link on the CBA home page doesn't work because its linking to http://www.cubsblogarmy.com/headlines.html instead of http://www.thecubdom.com/headlines.html. At least I think so anyway.
